In the Mexican Caribbean there are major destinations such as Riviera Maya and Cancun, as well as the hidden Grand Costa Maya, an eco-tourism haven with miles of pristine beaches, fascinating Mayan archaeological zones and other cultural sites to explore. Grand Costa Maya was looking to encourage travelers to adventure and explore outside of these popular tourist hotspots.
We developed a display advertising campaign with the goal of driving awareness and traveler consideration to the destination. Targeting travelers from the U.S. and Mexico, the campaign leveraged display ads across Expedia.com, Hotels.com and Expedia Group’s portfolio of leading travel brands.
Overall, the campaign generated tremendous exposure for the destination, with an over 40 percent year-over-year increase in passenger demand for Grand Costa Maya in the Mexico market, a 9:1 return on advertising spend in the U.S. market and a combined total of nearly six million impressions during the campaign period.
