Expedia Group Media Solutions Wins Five Travel Weekly Magellan Awards

Destination Gold Coast “Create Your Escape” for Overall Travel Destination in Australia

To encourage domestic and international travelers to experience the variety of unique, interesting and cultured activities in the region, this campaign let travelers create their escape to Australia’s Gold Coast through an immersive online experience. Read more about the campaign here.

Visit San Antonio “My Day In San Antonio” for Overall Travel Destination in US and Canada

This campaign was the first domestic tourism campaign featuring 360-degree video content within Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB)-compliant banner ad units. The “My Day in San Antonio” campaign prompts people to engage with 360-degree video footage within the ad units; by clicking on hotspots within the video, users can discover a variety of San Antonio locations and experiences. As users engage with the hotspots and explore the content, the banner ad is transformed into a “choose your own travel adventure” quiz in which viewers can plan their perfect day in San Antonio. Jamaica Tourism Board “The Great Jamaica Winter Sale” for Overall Travel Destination in Caribbean

The “Great Jamaica Winter Sale” had a goal to grow bookings and revenue during the winter travel season, while increasing hotel confidence in the tourism board. To inform the campaign’s tactics, the team tapped into Expedia Group Media Solutions’ targeting capabilities and leveraged Expedia Group’s proprietary, first-party search and booking data in the Caribbean. POSADAS for Hospitality Web Marketing/Advertising

POSADAS, Mexico’s largest hotel operator featuring seven distinct brands with locations throughout the country, was looking for a streamlined marketing approach to drive demand for their properties. This digital campaign featured an online tool that lets potential travelers craft their perfect Mexico getaway based on the type of travel experience they are looking for – from beach and coastal destinations to cityscapes. With unique content filtering functionality, travelers selected a destination and the tool recommended a POSADAS hotel, along with various activities they can tack onto their trip. VisitBritain “Kingsman” for Online Travel Services Marketing/Website

The movie sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle showcased the exciting, secretive and adventurous side of Britain’s most iconic cities and landscapes. Extending that excitement from the big screen, we launched an interactive campaign with VisitBritain that leverages the Kingsman film to encourage U.S. travelers to explore and discover Great Britain through the eyes of a spy.
